Obituary

Rose Creutzberg Thompson, 98, of Lewiston, died Monday, May 13, 2019, at Tri-State Memorial Hospital in Clarkston.

Rose was born June 7, 1920, in Guymon, Okla., to John and Ella Mae Lawson. She went to school in Guymon, Okla., and Seligman, Mo. She married William Henry Creutzberg in Seligman, Oct. 2, 1939. William passed away in 1968. Rose married Levi Thompson Feb. 14, 1985, in Lewiston. Levi died March 22, 1996.

Rose was a stay-at-home mom to her 12 children. She loved to sew and play cards, and was always ready for a good hand of pinochle. She also loved bingo. Rose was a Lewiston Eagles member in the ’90s, and she was a former member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). She loved animals, especially her precious dog, Angel.

Rose was a loving mom and grandmother. She was a big part of all our lives, and was there for anyone who needed her. We will miss her every day. You are now at peace with all your many loved ones in heaven.

She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Elmer) Rasmussen of Asotin, Marie (Kenny) Sparrow of Norfolk, Va., Mary (Ron) Gamet of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Vera (Terry) Bly of Boise, Donna (Jesse) Hicks of Lewiston, Barb (Jerry) Everett of Lewiston and Brenda Smiley of Lewiston; sons John Creutzberg of Moscow and Jack (Suzy) Creutzberg of Osburn, Idaho; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her husbands, William and Levi; and sons Gene, Jim and Larry Creutzberg.

All are welcome to come celebrate Rose’s life at her memorial at 11 a.m. Monday at First Church of God, 910 Sycamore St., in Clarkston. Bill Creutzberg will be officiating.

We spent every holiday together as well. Life is not going to be the same without you, mom. You were a big part of my life. I will always remember having you over Christmas morning having breakfast, opening presents, and then having Christmas dinner together. I will always cherish memories of making dinner at your house for you and John and then watching a movie. Valentines day was the last time we were together at your home. I bought John and you dinner at Sharis. It was your last night home. The most recent memory is when we went to Asotin during the fair and were looking for cowboys. We didn't find any. But it was fun looking. It was a good day. I will miss you dearly. You weren't just my mom, you were my friend.
