Obituary for Kaye Craber

Kaye Craber went to see Jesus, her parents and her sister Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018. Kaye always had a positive attitude and a love for people.

Her cooking skills and hosting abilities kept the five-bedroom house full of people and activities. People from Uzbekistan, Tanzania, China (and even Texas!) and other countries loved visiting and staying with Kaye and her family. When her sons were in high school, many friends often stayed over for the night, the week or several months — there was always room at the table for one more person, or two or three!

As if caring for all the people wasn’t enough, she also worked full time. Since moving to Clarkston, she worked in insurance, managed the school office at WWCC, and enjoyed working at the Lewiston Library, among other positions.

Kaye was known for her phenomenal skills in storytelling, writing and humor and was a gifted artist whose painting and sculpting abilities were enjoyed by many. All her skills came into play in entertaining company, keeping customers at work happy and in writing a biography for a close family friend. She was famous among grocery bag boys, who all wanted to buy her ’69 Camaro for ridiculously low prices. Kaye was a private pilot earlier in her life, and when she was initially given the commercial pilot’s license exam by mistake, she only missed passing it by two points!

Pages could be written about her, but her Christian testimony will live on after her. She will be missed by her husband and best friend of 46 years, Don, as well as her sons, Russell and Gregory, her daughter-in-law, Jenny, and four grandchildren, Ethan, Ryken, Jack and Lucy. After being unable to fly for too many years, today she is soaring with the angels.
