Obituary for George Storrs

George R. Storrs, 78, went to rest in the everlasting arms of our great Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, after many years of health struggles. He is now singing with the angels; no more sickness and pain. We will miss him terribly until we join him in heaven.

George was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Mount Vernon, Wash., to Milton and Etta Storrs. He was the second born of eight children.

George met the love of his life when they were only 14, where they spent many hours roller skating at the roller rink in Burlington, Wash. He was nicknamed “the rubber band man” for his fancy footwork on the floor. George also loved to play softball. He and Laura were married June 5, 1959, and they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this year.

George is survived by his wife, Laura; their children, Theresa (Floyd) Countryman of Cheney, Wash., Lenea (Pat) Holman of Clarkston, Pam (Randy) Pfohl or Brentwood, Calif., Brenda (John) Cook of Cameron Park, Calif., Malinda Massey of Lewiston, and Matthew Storrs of Spokane; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; five siblings; and many niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister Marilyn; and brother Dennis.

The whole family would like to offer sincere thanks to all of the EMTs, paramedics, doctors, nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, Lincare Home Oxygen and medical facilities throughout the area for the many years of care.

A memorial open house will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Gateway Church, 630 Main St., Lewiston. Come share memories and refreshments.
